A loaf of bread

This piece was completed in 2016. I personally like this very much. I love how detailed it is. It took me a long while to sketch this piece, and I used a lot of different pencils for this. I needed about 40 minutes to complete this. It involved a lot of shading, scrutinising, and thinking. It was tough to nail the shadow effects. I did my best, and I'm happy with the end result. The part I like most about this has got to be the knife. To me, it has the most realistic feel. I used H,2B,5B,8B,HB and 3B pencils to create the piece. The lighter pencils are used to create the background tones, while the darker pencils are used for the shadow effects. The hand grip required the darker pencils. With the variations in shading, you can envision the table top in the sketch. You can also clearly see the grains in the bread loaf. This is an astonishing artwork.
